Former Peoples Energy,SOLR Thinks I've just left them.

I had a fixed term deal with Peoples Energy which finished on 18/3/21.Final reading given and final Direct Debit collected and switched away to Octopus back then.
Now getting emails from SOLR about the take over see below:

"Ensuring you receive an accurate final bill.

Please provide meter readings through the online hub in the normal way here

If you have meter readings for the 19 September 2021, please submit these otherwise please can you send the next available meter reading and the date it was taken. This may be today. This will be important to ensure an accurate bill is provided and a smooth transfer to British Gas.

If you have already provided us with a meter read then do not worry, we are currently processing it and there is no need to send us another."


This is the second email SOLR have sent,is this going to be a pane?do we just ignore these emails?

    Don't ignore the emails, just let them know the date that you left and that as far as you are concerned your account should have been closed back then.
    It would help if you have a final bill from Peoples Energy, but you don't mention receiving one?
    It is possible that your account was not properly closed at the time which can lead to this sort of confusion.
    Ignoring the emails may result in your account being transferred to them, so don't just ignore them...

    Have you checked the national register to see who they show you as being with ?

    Perfect, so make sure you keep a copy of that final statement and you are all set.
    Just send a copy of it along with your email to let them know you left long ago and the account should have been closed.
  • I have a similar situation in relation to my late father's property. He passed away in March and I informed Peoples energy at the time. I then sold the house and informed them that I/we no longer owned the property. I received a final bill (credit refund).

    I've now received two emails from People's energy asking for meter readings for a property owned by someone else. There is no contact email and the telephone number is unmanned due to COVID.

    I contacted British Gas who are taking on People's Energy customers to inform them of the situation and they told me to ignore the emails.

    Does anyone have any ideas how to contact the People's Energy SOLR?

    British Gas *are* the People's Energy SoLR.
    If they say to ignore the emails, you can ignore them.

    British Gas are the SoLR. Contact them the same way that you contacted them last time. ;)

    Same as you,no reply on the email they sent and no contact info for British gas,looks like i will have to ignore as well.
  • Have the same issue, switched from People’s to Green back in March and getting emails from BG. I’ll just ignore as I’m now with Shell following the demise of Green!
