We know which party is holding up the exchange but we’re unsure why. One minute we’re told the dates are still on, the next we’re warned not to make too many plans because it’s not confirmed until exchange but not told why they haven’t exchanged…getmore4less said:

This process is definitely not easy!Deleted User said:HiBack in July when our offer was accepted, we had written confirmation from a party further up the chain who agreed to a ‘chain break’ and would vacate their house before their onward was ready to allow us to proceed (as they’re waiting on a new build not due until next year).
After what’s felt like a long couple of months, we’re ready to exchange and complete and they’ve now gone back on their word, and are expecting us all to simply wait until early next year (as they don’t even have a timeframe).Would you pull out? We feel so let down and can’t quite believe they would go back on their word this far in.Deleted User said:@goodwithsaving I am selling to a first time buyer, and purchasing a property with tenants in. It’s the onward purchase of the tenants that have now gone back on their word.We also had been assured by our seller that whatever delays the tenants may encounter, we would not be impacted and they’d vacate regardless, but unsurprisingly this hasn’t happened either.

FTB->yours->tenanted property->can't make their minds up->newbuild.
As you should have communication from both sides of yours and know if it is them, that just leaves the same people as before.
It’s supposed to be next week so I’m feeling very stressed that no one can tell us anything0 -
People all have different levels of being able to manage change. Unfortunately moving house sheds light on this and the loitering and indecision that goes on appears to be a lack of confidence sometimes. Breaking the chain is the same. It becomes a psychological barrier with the excuses being there is nowhere to rent, or it's too expensive etc, even when they agreed to it in the first place.Deleted User said:

Whatever is causing the delay is their problem and no one elses business. Often impossible to put a precise date on resolution.Deleted User said:getmore4less said:

I’m not sure what the purpose of this response was, but if we’ve all agreed to a date and then suddenly there is a delay, which significantly changes plans, and impacts my moving date then I would argue it’s my businessThrugelmir said:
