this is my latest/last bill from shell energy0 -
Can you post a photo of your own meter please? .. or at least go look at it and check if in mentions cubic metres or cubic feet on it...

Yes that's a "cubic metres" meter.

the only last thing i can point it down to is that my boiler keeps loosing pressure each month. it always goes down to zero;
I then always top it up back to around 2 bar. I'm not entirely sure why this happens

In anyone's book, that is a high level of consumption. Now is the time to start looking at ways to bring the consumption down. Less frequent showers might be a start, just think of that gas meter spinning the whole time the hot water is running! Closing off some rooms in winter, and letting them get cold would be a good plan too. I notice your have a good gas tariff too, 2.213p per kWh exc. VAT. That won't last forever.The boiler losing pressure is not a good thing. It could mean there is a leak somewhere, which you should ask the fellow who services your boiler to look into.2

i never knew that the meter spins so fast when using hot water. Both, partner and i, have stopped using hot water when washing hands etc. I now use cold, even when rising dishes/fruit etc.
that tariff has finished with shell. i moved onto AVRO before all the busts but now in that batch of people getting moved to Octopus.
I had the same issue last year with the boiler pressure and explained to my gas engineer and he said not to worry. he said its fine for it to lose pressure and to top it up. he only said to worry if the pressure went high.0 -
