I've looked into this in the past, it seems to vary by model as well as brand, there doesn't seem to be a definite answer.
Is this because you are looking for one on which the bearings can be replaced?
If so, check the web to see whether the manufacturer sells replacements for that model. If they do then it is probable the tub can be split.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1

To be honest I wouldn't get too hung up on this. There's lots more that can go wrong with a washing machine that doesn't require access to the inside of the tub. The need for a new control board may make repairs uneconomical for example.
If you still think it's important Section62 makes a good point, the name on the front doesn't tell you who made it.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.3 -

If you still think it's important Section62 makes a good point, the name on the front doesn't tell you who made it.It is a bit mad though. We all know that when a washing mashine costs £200-400, the price of the motor or a cheap bit of PCB shouldn't equate to £100+.I would literally pay twice as much for a unit if the manufacturer made parts available for a sensible price and for a minimum period.1 -
Any thoughts on whether the Auto Dose (detergent) feature on certain Samsung models works well? I assume it measures the weight of the washing and dispenses the correct amount of detergent to suit the load?
At the moment I am considering either:- Samsung Series 6 WW80T684DLH - 8Kg, 1400spin, with Auto Dose, £600
- EBac AWM8D2-WH - 8kg, 1600spin, £500

Why have something more complicated than it needs to be? It’s bound to go wrong at some point. Surely you know how much detergent to use?Stick to a good quality simple machine like a bottom of the range Mieli which can be had for around £600.1

Both the Samsung and the Ebac have a longer guarantee than the Miele, I'd want a long guarantee for that money. Or buy a cheap one and hope for the best.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1
