GiffGaff, but you have to make one call every six months to keep the SIM active.
Or send a text. :) And it doesn't even need to be a chargeable call/text - it can be to another GG member (which are free) but the act itself keeps your SIM active. :)

    Would asda work?

Need to top up a minimum of £5 every six months.

    Here's a link to Asda's T's & C's in relation to top ups:

  • Does anyone know the cheapest Pre-Paid SIM card, without any contract or ending date until credit used. I want this not to make calls but to be used in a WI-FI hot spot router

Depends how much data you need, unlimited data deals on 1 month contracts are probably the cheapest way, around £15/mth. Available from TalkMobile, Id, Smarty among others - check USwitch for deals.

Pure PAYG will be far more expensive, you can find 1p for 1MB but that's £10 a GB, and that's unusually cheap.

Need something today? Best pay'n'go I could find recently was Superdrug (uses 3) - £20 for 1 month unlimited data.

Check Amazon, Scancom sell pre-paid data only SIM cards that are pre-paid. You throw them away once their end date is reached and they stop working. You can have 500 GB data per month, for the cost equivalent to £4/month, on 3

My post was over 3 years ago! Latest giffgaff plans are here:

Note: I find Money Supermarket and Meerkat give better deals than USwitch ... check them out and you'll likely see that the exact same offers are a little cheaper via the others than via USwitch. :)
