Looking for a PAYG SIM that you don’t need to top up every month

Does anyone know if there are still Sims that you don’t need to top up every month.  I just need a Sim that I can put in an old phone for use in an emergency.

GiffGaff, but you have to make one call every six months to keep the SIM active.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Both in-laws have EE payg which they upgraded from Orange.
They top up with a tenner every year!

    EE PAYG SIM doesn't requite a top-up.

Order eg an £10 bundle SIM online and when you get it text STOP BUNDLE to 150 this will switch it to standard (but expensive) PAYG. (or it may be STOP PACK I can't remember)(

You need to send a text or make a call every 6 months.

No you don't, just need to use some credit every 180 days.

Thanks.  Even better than I thought.

I use the SIM in a device that sends me a text a couple of times a week, so £5 will last me ages.
