Can I have a little help with my first ever GSP order?

Please could anyone assist with my first ever sale. The address to send the item to looks like this
Purpose of use (reference number)
A516455006DE
GSP, Unit 3 Dove CL, Fradley Pk
LICHFIELD Staffordshire WS13 8UR

So is the ref number where I should write the Ebay item number? also do I need to add anything into the parcel? Lastly please will any courier deliver this I usually use Parcelto go. Kind regards and thanks

    Put

GSP, Unit 3 Dove CL, Fradley Pk

on your address label and send it there. Ebay then do the international bit, sending it to the person the code tells them ordered it. Personally I also put the same info + my address inside the parcel, just in case.

I've always used royal mail when sending a GSP order but I don't see why any other courier would have a problem. It's just an address somewhere near Birmingham!

Just print the address exactly as ebay have give up, there’s no difference in posting to them as with any other order.

I agree with Soolin, above - the buyer's address is already on the label eBay will have sent you. Just use that. It will get there, it's obviously the address the buyer uses. You don't need to put a reference number on the parcel yourself, it looks as if eBay has done it. Sometimes that's how labels have looked when I've sent parcels out. They have all arrived.

GSP is a large parcel sorting place in Lichfield, Staffs, as it says. (Not Birmingham.) It's eBay's Global Shipping Programme.

The label eBay sent should have a barcode containing all the relevant info. too.

Inside the parcel you could put a note (I usually do) saying something like 'thank you for your purchase' and a smiley face - that's friendly anyway! Some people don't bother, in fact many parcels I receive have nothing inside, not even a packing slip. Everything is recorded in your eBay account.

Any courier should take the parcel, yes. It's no different to any other parcel.

I'd strongly advise only to use the label eBay sends. In which case, you don't need to 'put' anything anywhere at all.

If anything goes wrong, you will be able to get a refund. If you do it yourself (by-passing eBay) you'll not be entitled.

The seller does not see the buyers address at all- the address given by ebay is the ebay hub, that's all that matters.

It doesn't need a barcode- just the ebay reference given on the address , ebay will re label it on arrival.

You are right in that assuming this tracks to the ebay hub thern the seller is covered against any INR claim later raised by the buyer. at this point it is impossible to cut out ebay and send direct to the buyer as a) the seller does not have the buyers address and b) ebay have already been paid by the buyer for the international part of the postage- the seller never receives this.

I live in Scotland so from my perspective Lichfield and Birmingham are basically the same place! Apologies for any aggrieved Brummies/Lichfieldians.

Indeed. I'm still not keen on GSP but it has worked for me on transactions going outside the UK. BUT....if an item shows as delivered to eBay's place in UK, then sent and is, say, damaged in transit, or worse, lost in transit to wherever in the world, what happens then?

I just had something that amazingly went to Wellington, NZ using 2nd class and got there within 10 days. Got +fb which was great but I'm still a bit unsure how it works if there is an issue.

I’ve had a breakage , and I spoke to ebay GSP department and explained how the glass was packed, and they covered the loss. I’ve also had an SNAD opened, but buyer chose to dispute the colour (something like it looked blue on their monitor and they bought it despite my listing stating it was green) as the reason, and as the colour was clearly stated in my item specifics that case was closed in my favour as well.

    Another GSP question:

Just sold an item this morning, but buyer still not paid yet. went to "send invoice" but I can't without selecting a postage service, and all the postage services are set to £0 so it seems I can't add postage.
is this a glitch in the GSP system?

Nope not a glitch, you can’t send an invoice for a GSP item as ebay need to add their own bits on. All you can do is wait for payment, and if buyer doesn’t pay cancel the sale on day 5.
