Makita do a very accurate scanner however it over a £1000 pound as much as I love a new tool can’t justify buying it!
The trade dealer I know recommended the Bosch GMS120, which has stud detection as well, but at around the £100 it was too dear for occasional DIY use.
Most of my DIY stuff I don't need a detector as I know what is in the walls from putting it there in the first place. For other people's property I reckon you need something a bit more reliable for the money involved.

Indeed, it would be prudent to test beforehand, I’ve never hit a gas pipe but if I had a pound for every cable I’ve hit which shouldn’t be there!Section62 said:travis-powers said:
