HSBC balance transfer

I may have not made myself clear. I've setup the balance transfer from my Nationwide credit card to HSBC. I can now see this on the HSBC credit card on the HSBC. I haven't had a statement from HSBC yet but thought I'd go on and pay some of it. I signed in to the HSBC app to find out the sort code and account number for the HSBC card but couldn't find anything. Eventually support gave me a sort code and account number to use.
While I was on to HSBC support I signed into my Nationwide account and from there tried to pay money to the sort code and account number they gave me, using the HSBC card number as reference from Nationwide. But despite trying twice, Nationwide app has just said failed and no explanation why. Guess I have to ask Nationwide about that but still annoying.0
