Back in the day, you could only watch TV (not record it) and that included sitting through the ads.
Then TV recording was introduced (VHS tape, PVRs etc) and the broadcasters started tearing their hair out because this allowed you to record a program and skip the ads when watching it.
Now we are back to the status quo - streaming prevents you (or can be set to prevent you) ad skipping.0 -
