Jet2 combining flights

Booked return flight to Lanzarote with Jet2 online.  2 available flights both ways per day; one at better times was more expensive but I chose to book and pay the extra for the great flight times.   Now get email saying our flight has changed; yes you guessed it to the worst times.  So I need not have paid the extra.  No mention of refund.  Feel like a mug..   Terms and Conditions no doubt state 'we reserve the right to change flight timings' ....   So guess I won't have a leg to stand on; not huge sums of money but it's the principle.  Sent email query weeks ago; nothing but automatic acknowledgement.  Anyone else had the same thing?

has your flight number changed? what it the time difference between the old and new flights?
Can you purchase tickets on the new flight for less than you originally paid? (would it be beneficial if you could get a refund on old flights and make new booking?)
