Symbio owe me about £37.00 but with me I always stayed on top of things. I had been with them since April 2019 and like some customers could have just let things rest. However I challenged everything and the most they ever owed me was £100 but I got it down to the level quoted. I certainly would never have allowed it to get to the point where they me owed hundreds of pounds. For me I did well to get cheap electricity for such a very long time. Also for what it is worth I have no animosity towards them and I forgive their constant lying to me.I've always attempted to stay on the ball with them, my troubles started when I had a meter swap a few months ago. They didn't update their system, so their website wouldn't accept the new readings as they were lower than previous ones. After phoning and getting no answer, emailing customer services and getting ignored, then emailing their complaints address threatening the ombudsman they finally changed the meter details so their website would accept my readings. These were accepted, I put in one a week for a month. However, while the website appeared happy to accept them, there's obviously a further system that wasn't happy with these readings so they kept ignoring them.So they just kept issuing bills based on nonsense, that were at least £100/month too high. Not everyone who ends up being owed money is to blame. Either they were utterly incompetent or deliberately going out of their way to stack up as much of their customers' money as possible. I can judge this only from my own point of view, but I feel I've been defrauded and it seems that others have had similar experiences.Just today I've had an email from them complaining that I've cancelled the direct debit as they tried to take some more money yesterday. I'm very glad I cancelled it, against theirs and MSE's advice.2 -
I followed the guidelines on the Eon page which expressly stated that they would tell us when the 2-3 week no switch period started. I initiated the switch to NR right away. They say that a switch already in progress will go through as normal.0

Well, I have thrown caution to the winds and initiated the switch.
Let's see how this goes.

The conventional wisdom is not to start a switch away from a defunct supplier until the transfer to the SOLR is completed and shows up when you check your energy supplier via your DNO's web site. I have just checked and I am still shown as supplied by Symbio. Comparing what I would theoretically have paid Symbio for 12 months supply of energy at the rate I was on when they crashed, and the amount I would theoretically pay E.on, at the Flex Next rate, there is a 70% increase. Of course both of the rates are theoretical, because my Symbio rate was only fixed until next May, and my E.on rate is only capped until next April!0

Tried to log into Symbio via my app and also online today and now giving code 404 error. Not sure if this is only temporary or whether the site has now been taken down.
Perhaps it may be in preparation to transferring the accounts over to E.on Next.0 -

Perhaps it may be in preparation to transferring the accounts over to E.on Next.I started a switch to British Gas on 30 September ! It goes live on 25 October. No idea who is supplying me at the moment: Symbio tried to collect a DD including usage and standing charges going right up to 31 October (glad I ignored the advice and had already cancelled the DD), and the national database is still saying it's Symbio, presumably because it hasn't yet been updated.I suspect that I've been unwillingly captured by E.On Next but its website is very muddled. It states that 'Ofgem has chosen E.ON Next to be your new energy supplier from Sunday 3 October,' but then rather contradicts itself by adding 'If we've contacted you (by email or post) but you're no longer a customer of Symbio Energy, don't worry, we'll not attempt to transfer your account to E.ON Next' and 'Your switch will continue as normal so you don’t need to do anything'.Clear as mud !0 -
