When best to buy June 2022 flights

We are flying June 2022 to Bristol to Barcelona. Currently the prices on compare sites (which are displaying flights with Easyjet, Ryanair mainly) are around £300 pp return with 20kg bag which seems a tad pricey to me?
So when is the best time to book? Could the price reduce nearer the date, (but will we run the risk of flights being fully booked?) There's a festival on the weekend we travel so seats might be booked up sooner than usual potentially.

I've already booked our June 2022 flights to Dalaman from Gatwick. They were originally 2019 flights then rebooked for 2021 for about £35 pp more . Then we got a refund and the new flights were almost the same price as 2021.
I was happy to book now as accommodation is already sorted.
You might have to accept the current price because of the festival.1 -
Further thought is that the cost of aviation fuel has risen sharply and is unlikely to drop anytime soon. Ryanair like all airlines will be hedging their exposure to cover their forecast requirements.1

Second question, we're a party of four adults, myself and partner buying returns however the other couple will fly out together but dont want returns as they're travelling on to somewhere else. what is the best way to book these tickets together? Airline websites dont appear to offer the ability to select returns for two but one way for just two of the group. Or do we just have to book separately? I guess we could book separate and pay ryanair extra to reserve seats together but thats an extra £60 worth of money better spent on tapas and sangria!0 -
would be 2 bookings
either 1 booking for 4 single outbound flights and second booking for 2 return leg flights
or
1 booking for 2 passengers with returns and second booking for 2 passengers one-way0 -
I've been looking at flights for next year and a lot of them seem to be very high. There will be a lot more demand next year as a lot of people haven't been away and as others have said the increase in fuel costs.0
