Smart meters

I was harassed about having a smart gas meter fitted a few years ago ,but they lost interest when I explained that my leccy was with a different supplier.
I have also had "the electric meter is reaching the end of its llfe"  message but that was stopped when I pointed out that a new meter had been fitted two years previously!
Nothing against smarts now - but was anti when they were fitting SMETS1 which couldn't handle supplier changes at the time.
