Make your own.  My parents used to do that when I was a child - marzipan stuffed dates, coconut ice, fudge, chocolate truffles, peppermint creams.  It also makes brilliant presents if they are put into a presentation sweet box.  I don't remember if we did have shop bought tins of chocolates.  We probably did, but its the home made sweets I remember.

I've continued the tradition, I make brandy or rum truffles,  candied clementine slices dipped in dark chocolate and peppermint creams, both dipped and plain.  Its plenty.  And no-one misses the Quality Street/ Heroes/Roses et al. at all.
And cherries in marzipan dipped in chocolate! (Home made marzipan).

Quality Street et al don't taste very nice now, and are less varied and more standard shapes. (And they don't come in attractive smaller tins anymore either.)
