We found loads of stuff in the loft. We got a man to come and take the rubbish away (checked he was registered) I still smile at the sight of the large teddy bear sitting on the Van's front seat with a seatbelt around it as it drove away.
Did you buy our old house? It wasn't until after my Dad had moved that he said he'd left some bits in the loft, including two large teddies I'd had when I was little. Still a bit gutted about that.
I found a photo, for you to check.

Lol thanks. Nope, not mine! Similar style to one of the teddies actually but she was orange.

Is that doll Hamble from 1960s Play School?  The scary ugly TV doll?
Please don't post a photo of its face if it is, she gave me nightmares!

We had a little table in the kitchen in our first house that was ideal for breakfast time with two small children. I got a builder in to talk about kitchen improvements & the first thing he did was to go out to his van & fetch an acrowprop: we’d been eating breakfast there for five years & the chimney in the room above was supported by just the floor joists.

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

My parents found a room. There was no access to it except through a ceiling hatch from the 1st floor hallway (3 storey house). In hindsight, the space was always there and visible from the outside so I don't know why it was such a surprise. They ended up creating access on the 2nd floor and turning it into a decent size bathroom.

ETA, in our loft we found several gross toilet seats and a British Gas fleece. There's still some stuff up there to clear out which we'll need to do before boarding the rest.

They also left us a dead bay tree in the garden - it had a sucker though so I potted that, which is now a healthy young tree, which also had a sucker so now I have two little bay trees.

At one house we found - an entire wicker patio set completely covered in brambles, two asbestos sheets hidden under a hedge, an open container full of used sump oil behind the shed, a hidden doorway and (possibly) a ghost. I don't believe in ghosts, but one of the bedroom doors would swing open for no reason and all the books fell off the shelf in the office.

Unfortunately all of this and the stuff on the landing was taken away.
The first day we got the keys, we found a stuffed toy on the opening of the loft, we actually thought it was a rupert bear, but it turned out to be a rabbit. Photo taken while still in loft, we found the other stuff later.
