Wondering if anyone uses the toilet cleaning tablets that make the water go all blue and if they're any good?
Or any other solution like this?

Tablets? Does one take them orally, or is it possible to leave out the middle man? I must say the blue tablets I took had very pleasant effects, but cleaning the bog wasn't one of them!

A good brush, possibly two different ones, and washing powder. More laborious, not exactly "like this", but with a real visible result.anotheruser said:

Bottle of bleach1

Them tablets that are dropped into the wc cistern, can actually damage the cistern internals

Tablets dropped into the wc bowl or rim mounted, doubt they actually clean.
After flushing the contents away
, using few drops of washing up liquid while brushing with your bog brush.
If the bowl has lime staining rusty marks use Zep calcium limescale & rust stain remover

Like air freshener sprays... hides the offending matter whilst not doing anything about the root cause. Not very MSE.
And does the planet need more chemicals and resources being used for no particular purpose?

Have used them and they do work. Just pop it in the bowl and leave it overnight. Does get rid of stains that the toilet brush won't.

As an owner of a septic tank, I often wonder how the water authority copes with the thousands of litres of bleach and other aggressive chemicals poured down drains with impunity. It isn't necessary, just convenient.Section62 said:

My dad bought them - they’re nothing special - better off with regular toilet cleaner or bleach.0

I tried them and wasn't impressed. It seems I actually have to clean the toilet sometimes rather than chuck the odd tablet in. Life can be so annoying!1

I live in a hard water area . I was beginning to get marks on the bowl .
I put lots of flash wipes under the entire rim leaving it overnight .
Then once more to be thorough
That , a brush and a bottle of bleach is all you need .Toilet looks new now ..0
