Best type of shower for air source heating system

Options
Hi, any thoughts on which shower to use with ASHP, power shower removed and need to know if a mains shower from bath taps (wii put on mixer taps) will work. Cheaper and more pressure than electric shower? Water supply coming from Mitsubishi unit downstairs. Thanks

Assuming that you've got a non-vented hot water tank and the water pressure is adequate then probably nearly any sort of shower would work - theres nothing particulary special about the hot water from a hot water tank whatever is providing the heat source..

Bear in min though that getting an eco or low flow heat would help you save even more money by reducing the amount of hot water that you use.

A ten minute shower at 15 litres/min would use around 150 litres of water ccompared with my eco head at 6lpm for three minutes which gets through about 18 litres.

As you say it would be much cheaper than an electric shower - depending on the COP around 60% cheaper and you'll get a higher pressure.

We also dont have our hot water set too high, 45 degrees works for us and ensures that the boost heater doesn't activate which it will if you have your water temp set above around 55 degrees.

I agree with @matelodave .  In my case the hot water cylinder temperature is set at 50 C but it is allowed to drop by 10 degrees (to 40 C) before the ASHP comes on to reheat it up to 50 C.  There is also a mixing valve on the hot water outlet from the cylinder which is set a bit lower than 50 C.

As matelodave states for a shower it doesn't matter how the Hot water tank is heated - gas, immersion heater, solid fuel, oil/lpg etc and an ASHP heated tank is always going to be cheaper than an electric shower.
