Allocated car parking

hi,
I moved into a flat with an allocated parking a month back. I do not have a car but intend to buy one soon. I have been noticing that someone else is parking their car daily in my allocated car parking. Should I talk to them/write a note and ask them not to do it or should I wait till I buy a car which may not happen in until few months? Please advise.
Thank you

I would put a note under the windscreen wiper politely pointing out that this is your parking space, the longer they keep parking there the more difficult it will be when you actually do get a car3

Is it definitely your space? Have you checked your deeds or are you just assuming the number on the parking space is the same as your flat number.1

Best to stake your claim now. You can at least tell them they have a month or two to find somewhere else to park, but be clear that when you get a car it won't be available anymore.0

I will politely let them know now.1

I would also ask other residents as well. When we moved into our flat we had a carport space allocated.About 20 months later we found out from the new management company that they had a different carport space allocated (per original deeds). Sometimes people swap because a space might not be suitable if you have young children and it could be your space has been swapped?I would try and talk to the person in your space first rather than leave a note and play it confused and friendly.Parking is a hot issue and can cause problems so if you go in a little too heavy handed you can cause a rift.Edit to add : a note under a windscreen wiper can upset some people who might construe it as passive aggressive, in light of this forum, if you do that, include a Swiss roll with it.May you find your sister soon Helli.

We bought a flat recently and noted on the plans that the parking space is the furthest away from the property that it could possibly be - presume swapping has gone on over time as numbers all jumbled up. Suits us as occupant of flat doesn't drive but space too far away from building for anyone to keep parking there - always free when I pitch up to do some shopping.
Important to check that the spaces are where people think they are - sometimes they don't match the flat numbers2 -

Thanks everyone.
For first few weeks nobody parked there, I think people have noted that this is an empty parking space and started parking in the empty space.
