Anyone else find Christmas shopping so depressing? All that mindless spending and trying to think up what to buy people. Christmas I like but not this aspect of it. I think it's why I always enjoy January haha 😄
Gifts is one of my love languages but this year it will be tough as I am on a tight budget. I am not a mindless spender either any more - so enjoy it more than I used to. I've mentally allocated it a budget and managed everyone's expectations!

Have not updating for a few days!

Went to my dental appointment and needed to book in with the Hygienist on the 31st of December another £35.00  upfront payment. I have also made a few small payment towards the CC. Received my travel expenses yesterday, all moved into my car saving pots ready for next years MOT/service and any repairs that maybe needed.

We are still eating from the fridge/freezer and stores,  I now have a clear drawer in my small freezer, ready for my Christmas Meal Hamper.

I am enjoying working in my office/eBay room, has a much nicer feel now the room is more organised and I am definitely more productive when I work in there. I have been working my way through my pile of unlisted items hopefully a few more sales this week, fingers crossed.

Busy work day today, been out and about which was nice as I got to visit the coast and look at the sea for a while.

Made a GP's appointment for Friday as I have been experiencing dizzy spells lately and I am getting worried as they are still happening.

Today has been a spend day as we needed milk so got that on the way home this afternoon. Dinner is from the freezer, found a tub of chilli, so chilli and rice it is.

    In 655 days I will be 55.

@mcpitman I find them a good way of keeping track of my spending.

@savingholmes I have vertigo, been given some exercises that have helped.

New debt total is £7696.18, figures are going in the right direction. Looking to be below 7k going into the New Year.

Been trying to renew my Driving Licence  online today and because I have just had a new passport they cant identify me, so instead of £14.00 will now cost £21.50 at the Post Office and the inconvenience of traveling to a Post Office 15 miles away as our little Post Office does not deal with Driving Licences!
Will have to make a trip on Saturday, grocery shopping can be done and I will have a look around the charity shops, so wont be a total waste of petrol and time.

Thank you @savingholmes feeling much better, exercises seem to have worked.

Been a busy few days! Driving Licence applied for and hopefully will arrive in the next few days. I found the charity shops in the town to be very expensive so no spending for me. Did buy a few bits in some of the other shops, ready for Christmas.

Made a few over payments towards the debt thanks to eBay sales, left over grocery budget for last week and cashing out on two receipt apps.

I have also started the 1p saving challenge, if I see any money in the street i pick it up and pop into a money box ,there was about £5.00 in there so I have used that as my starting savings. Fingers crossed I can complete the challenge and the money will go towards next Christmas.

We have also bought ourselves a joint Christmas gift! We don't buy gifts for each other however there was an exercise bike on a selling site and we £25.00 each. Mr D is struggling to get out on his bike in the current weather and I really need to start exercising, so suits both of our needs. Really pleased with the bike, I honestly don't think it has been used. I have started off at 20minutes and will build up gradually.

    Have a good day all.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Looking forward to a new year and all it holds.

2022 is going to be the year when I focus on clearing the debt and looking after my health and wellbeing.

Balance on debt owed is £7051.02:
    CC1 - £1860.00
    CC2 - £5191.02.

I will be throwing my energy is to clearing this debt by the end of 2022. Started 2021 with debt of roughly £14500, so its doable if I through every spare penny at it. For January I have withdrawn £200 cash and this has to cove all spending for the month. Luckily the car has a full tank of petrol and I am looking to schedule work so I am only out in the community roughly two days a week, so I am hoping the tank will last the month.
We have a full freezer to work our way through, so only looking at buy fresh food, fruit, veg, milk etc. Have enough cleaning products and toiletries to last the next three month or so. Once we have used up what we have I am going to look at more eco-friendly products.

Health and Wellbeing. I am over weight and its making me unhappy, I am struggling to fit into my clothes and tend to wear the same few things all the time. I have weighed and written down my measurements this morning, I need to exercise more, I know this and will be increasing the amount of time I spend on the exercise bike we purchased recently. Will also be reducing the amount of bread I eat (I love bread) and sugar, alcohol will also be reduced.
So this morning we went for a walk along the beach front, as its was not pouring down with rain when we got up and I really enjoy the walk. Loved seeing all the dogs out having fun on the beach, we missing having a dog and may look to getting a new dog later in the year.

So they are my main goals for the year, Will also look at setting myself little monthly challenges along the way regarding decluttering the house.

Aiming for 20 NSD's this month. Today has been 1, so 19 let to go!
