Parking Awareness

Hi
I went through the posts I could find but couldn't see any that mention Parking Awareness letters rather than Debt management companies
My wife parked her car for 5mins at a cafe car park which apparently had automatic number plate recognition. She then received this letter
Obvious question is this any different to other private parking companies as they sound a lot bigger..and should I pay ?

Thanks

Standard advice is to read the NEWBIE sticky and then send the "one size fits all" appeal (the keeper appeals) that you will find written in blue text.2

Wow! They are a very small fish in a big and murky 'rogue trader' pond, A bog standard NTK letter, nothing bigger or different.and should I pay ?No-one here on MSE pays a scam and clearly in 5 minutes the driver left without accepting a contract.
Read the NEWBIES thread first.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

they are very likely to be minnows. Of course you should not pay, they are trying to scam you. Have you complained to your MP?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Sorry DPD, but no-one else can access files on your computer.3

What a strange little letter from the that Director.
Did they provide any pictures ?
Very small fry in a feeble attempt to make money. Look at companies house
https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07754738/officers
THEIR ACCOUNTS ARE OVERDUE
That director is the one and only, the other 3 resigned and they were the accountants ??
AND THEY SAY THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE IS LIABLE ??
WHOOPS ....... what a very silly assumption. They obtained your details from the DVLA who confirmed the registered keeper as you .... nothing else. They don't have a clue who the driver is and are simply phishing, hoping you are a mug
There is no obligation to name the driver ..... that's a BIG NO NO
BUT, have fun with this one man band, send them a SAR which means they must provide you with all the info. or .... it's off to the ICO
I see they are members of the International Parking Community known as the IPC which is one of the biggest scams in the UK
So, you do not pay a scammer, you can waste their time and money as much as you want
Where will it go ? .... apart from draining their bank account, probably nowhere
DO NOT PAY

As they offer instalment plans are they not supposed to be registered with the FCA and as such they are not allowed to charge an admin fee:https://www.fca.org.uk/firms/authorisation/when-required/exemptions-exclusions/installment-credit

Interesting that bit about not being allowed to charge an admin fee if the instalment plan is to be exempt from FCA rules.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
