House in Scotland bought with hidden defect

Hello, I’m new to this forum and new to buying houses (first time buyer). So I’m hoping that someone will be able to advise me.
I received the keys to the new house on Friday and on Saturday discovered two separate leaks that were not stated in Home Report.
1 - toilet faulty connection to sewage pipe that results in serious  leak when the toilet is flushed. That caused some wall and selling in the downstairs kitchen.
2 - wet rot and mould on the wall in the bathroom ABOVE the leaking toilet. There is a flat roof and it can be all sorts of reasons. 
The defects were reported to the solicitor and they intimated a post settlement claim.
My question here is, is this kind of damage even qualifies for a claim?

    There is a formal process for defects in Scotland (unlike less helpful countries).  See you claim via solicitor goes.  How much in total to fix them, please?

    Faults in the plumbing are covered by the usual clause in the standard missives (assuming that's what you used, and if you didn't have a claim I presume your solicitor would already have told you). If the other problem is caused by a leaky roof, that's not going to be a claim against the seller. At best you might have a claim against the Home Report surveyor if it's something they ought to have reported on.

    My solicitor already started the claim process. I have no idea how much it will cost. The leaky toilet shouldn’t be too expensive but the roof can easily exceed £2000 :(

    Thanks. That’s what I was worrying about. The Home Report didn’t specify any roof problem, just the usual nr 2 due to its age. But it did say that they weren’t able to inspect the flat roof due to lack of access. So I guess no chance for claim there ☹️
