Car Hire Insurance Excess Cover

Hi All,
I am a resident in Canada and coming to the Uk and want to hire a car. I see that the Insurance for excess cover is only valid for UK residents.. does anyone know of any excess cover insurance for non uk residents or even for Canadian citizens ?

Here in the UK, residents can buy car hire insurance excess cover from a UK company for both domestic and overseas car hire. Is similar not available from a Canadian company for a Canadian resident i.e. you buy it over there to cover you over here?Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.0
