ROSY My DS bought me an Ancestry DNA testing kit for Xmas 2 years ago and it shows I have some Viking ethnicity. I blame all the raping and pillaging that went on when they came over here invading in their long boats! But most of my ethnicity is from the Yorkshire area with some Irish and Scottish, .plus the bit of French from my Gt x 5 grandma who hailed from there. I was hoping I would have ancestors from some exotic locations but sadly not!

It was a shame as they then all went to the tip.Sorted out things with my neighbour to do garden planning, we'll meet up properly in a couple of weeks to think seriously about the space. They have stalking clients this week and half term next week, there's no rush.Rosy / TA - I've thought about a DNA test but always shied away! It's the thought of skeletons popping out of cupboards which puts me off.Still raining here, intermittent heavy rain and that annoying drizzle, not as much sun as yesterday unfortunately. I've had my lunch and done a set of exercises so am going to reward myself with a sit down.9

The weather has definitely turned here so I'll be checking out soup, casseroles and stews going forwards. I always struggle to make a tasty tomato soup; they're either too strong a flavour or a bit insipid.

Hi Wicked_Lady just delurking to say have you tried Tesco's Nana's Magic Soup, if you like it a bit spicy it works with added chilli, it does work with low fat coconut milk

Thanks Brambling. I've just added that to my online favourites and will give it a go at some point, especially as I like coconut milk.
Thank you Snoozer as well, for the Carrot cake info. That's another one to try in the future when there are more than two of us in the house!8 -
Rosy and TA, I did the DNA thing but they keep changing it. At first I was all British with a bit of Scandinavian, then all British and the latest has me at 14% Norwegian. I must admit I'm a bit sceptical now, even though I come from an area which was settled by Vikings.5
