Morning, hugs if you need one.
Red Ruby, best of luck for today, just take things steady.
Bright morning, sun is out so laundry in, should get it dry on the line. Will parcel it up to go to the ironing lady then.
I have had our pine wardrobe on various sites for a while, yesterday someone from Nottingham asked if I still had it, they came and collected it, so our bedroom now looks enormous.......I did not realise just how much space it did take up. I need to get the TV moved, the room decorated and a new carpet, I think the bed will have to be dismantled to do that. Its cast iron and very heavy.
Chicken yesterday was delicious, at £4 it was bigger than the one from Aldi at £3.45, quite a bit of meat left for tonight.
I am on a use it up week, we go away on Sunday for a few days, do not want to leave much in the way of fresh food around. Will bring veg etc back with us when we come back.

Hi everyone,
Well, yesterday was eventful. We went to bed on Saturday night and I didn't feel very well at all and bearing in mind what the Dr had said to me the day before we decided to get my heart checked out and went to A & E. We got there at 2.45 and at first it all went well, I had blood taken and a cannula fitted, bp etc taken but then I was sent to sit in the waiting room. There were only about 12 people there so I thought it wouldn't be too long a wait - wrong it was 11.45 before they sent me to the ambulatory care unit, still without having seen anyone (one old lady had waited over 11 hours). While I was there only about 4 people were taken through to be treated. Anyway they wanted to do the blood tests again and I eventually saw at doctor at 1pm. Everything was fine and I was sent home so I feel a bit guilty about going now although somewhat reassured that while my heart is playing up I can live with it until it starts to behave again.
With regard to the hospital I don't feel angry about the wait, there were obviously things happening that we didn't know about but were I think they could improve is with communication. Just telling us that they were being overwhelmed by people arriving by ambulance would have helped. A couple of people decided that they felt better and left but I decided to stick it out. Luckily Steve wasn't able to stay so he went home and got some decent sleep.
Anyway, after spending 10 hours or so in a chair the rest of yesterday was a washout which was a pain as we had plans.
Today will be fairly boring so I will love you and leave you, best wishes to the poorlies, especially Nelski I feel for you, hospitals are so boring, I hope the food isn't too bad.10 -
Wicked Lady, I highly recommend the carrot cake recipe in the hummingbird book, although I do two thirds of the recipe and make a 2 layer cake rather than 3 layer, it still makes an ample cake. I also grate the zest of an orange into the cream cheese frosting, it makes a real difference to the sweetness of it.
Redruby, I hope you have a good return to work.10 -
Morning all. Sunny! Good job too because I want to sand the little table today. The sooner that's done, the sooner I can tidy the area that is a bit of a dumping ground. More decluttering needed. I was cold yesterday so I lit the fire, first one of this coming winter. Totally worth it, it was lovely. The chimney sweep is coming friday so I'll have to remember to empty it out before then but I don't doubt there'll be more this week. OH is on lates so again, just me to sort for food so I'll make a veggie soup after, I'm missing vegetables...I also have to phone the water board this morning, our drain outside, the main one is blocked and after I paid for it to be sorted a couple of years ago, I won't be doing that again because it's their responsibility to do it, which I found out after I paid. It's not us blocking it, we don't throw anything down there that shouldn't be thrown down there and the last time it was a bit of insulation left over from next doors extension. I'll go and check with the other neighbour in a bit to see if his is blocked too. That's all todays excitement I'm afraid...Ruby, hope it goes well today, just don't push yourself too hard...Snoozer, I'm feeling a bit guilty now for saying go, but I'm glad you're OK [ish]. dumpling, good start on addressing your childhood issues. Gers, that sounds like a recipe for a spa day! bella, it's all go with you! Nelski, what a pain...hope your mother isn't being all demanding as well....Take care of yourselves and hot toddies prescribed for tonight for all....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Snoozer - what a nightmare for you! I hope that your GP can do something to regulate your AF a bit more.Bella - and what a pain for you, it's horrid when trades let you down more than once.Taff - I must have lost a few posts about what you're up to, are you moving to Wales? Moving away from Wales? Have nothing to do with Wales? I need to take more water with it! BTW - everyday will have to be a spa day here if I'm to get my skin, hair and nails back in order. Despite my long-held resistance to it I'm even contemplating having my grey hair dyed. The trouble is I get so bored sitting in the hairdresser I'm hardly able to have my hair cut before I'm out the door. My hair isn't helping my looks just now yet others seem to really suit their greyness. Mmmmm...I've sorted out the annual service at DM's empty flat, the lovely upstairs neighbour who holds the keys will liaise with the engineer and let him in. I tried to get a specific time slot but understand that it wasn't really an option, however I can't sit outside in the car for hours either. My time this morning has also been spent sorting out at few financial affairs. I'd cancelled a standing order which still had five months to run so that's been reinstated. Now it's time for a cuppa.11

Morning all, it's not raining! I met next door after I got back from dogwalking, haven't seen them for a bit and he said their teenage son has been off school with covid, but he and his wife's tests have been negative. Apparently 8 in the class were off. They were going for another test this morning as it's been 5 days since result, but he's not too poorly .DS2 called yesterday after dropping DGS back at his Mums, and ended up staying for tea, I had to do a quick grab from the freezer & defrost stew as there wasn't enough pork.Snoozer glad you're ok, it's a bit worrying about those wait times.RR as I write this you'll have done half your shift, hoping it went well.Sorry to hear Nels is still in, lots of love to you if you can read this.Taff you're making me feel tired seeing all your efforts at clearing etc, look after yourself too. TA- know what you mean about lakelands veg bags
mine were £1.50
I was excited yesterday to see the results from my Dna test from Ancestre y. I don't have Viking blood, thought there might be a bit as I always think DS2 looks a bit like one but that could be just the beardIn fact nearly 80% showed Lancs/Gtr Manchester so not much movement there, bit of Scots which I knew as my Grans father was born there before his parents came here. It has confirmed a couple of people I had in my family tree that I had doubts about though. I shall look at the list of people again this afternoon & I'll ring my cousin to update her
Tea tonight chicken breasts with cream cheese wrapped in parma ham. Plenty of crumble left from yesterday:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -
Morning all, sunny after showers here in Kent. Just prepping dinner for slow cooker, spicy pork chops with apple and sweet potatoes.
have a good day all, hugs to all the poorlies, I remember Nelski posting and am sorry to hear she’s ill.Carolbee10 -
Good morning
Still raining here🌧🌧 managed to clear the spare bedroom, I did email around to see if anywhere wanted the pillows and duvets but no takers. I have booked a tip run to get rid of them.
If it ever stops raining I would like to get into the garden to cut back and finish planting pots with bulbs.
Have a good day x9 -
Gers, still sorting out the shed of doom in Wales, the house is sold but I keep having to go back to [variously] clear the house, clear the shed, meet the surveyor/valuer, see the solicitor etc. I don't live in Wales...not intending moving back either. My cousin and I had a chat once with my sister listening in while I was saying about the sky. Here, the sky is big, it's miles above you. There, the sky feels like it's sitting an inch above your head sometimes especially when the fog or mist or rain comes in, it's like living underground [ it's not, obviously, but that's how it feels] That's just the part I'm from though, I expect it's different in other parts of Wales.Rosy, that sounds cool. I might do one of those for myself next year or something. I know we have half relatives in Scotland thanks to my grandad divorcing my gran..Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11
