...My fixed tariff ends in a couple months and I was checking to see what's available...
...My current tariff has exit fees so will need to wait a bit longer anyway as my fixed tariff ends 31 Dec....
No pointeven  looking at what may be available elsewhere in another 3 months time then.
Even in the best of times, tariffs on offer would often be replaced within 3 months; in these current times tariffs are seen changing within the week.

Martin's general advice to those on a fixed tariff from months ago is to hold onto it for as long as possible (especially from a stable supplier such as SP who are unlikely to be failing during this current rout of smaller suppliers); anything on offer today will cost more.

Having said that, I agree with others, you may want to consider what SP are offering you now as an exclusive tariff; it all depends on how good a tariff you are currently on and what giving up 3 months of that may cost you during a time you will be using quite a bit of energy.

the customer service levels from SP retail are poor. Billing systems terrible. So its not just the price for gas/Electric that matter.

I'm an existing dual fuel ScottishPower customer.

I've recently changed to one of their SMART (i.e. Time-of-Use) tariffs as it offered savings over their 'standard' fixed tariffs.  We use a lot more gas than electricity, and T-o-U applies only to the electricity, but this tariff had the lowest gas unit price of any fix that was listed.

I don't know if these tariffs are on general sale on their website (for me they were in 'my account') but maybe worth a look if they are.
