You're right,in my case anyway, and i'll tell you why. When i joined them 3 year ago they were up their price wise and had excellent reviews for a smaller company. I changed tariff at least 3 times with them over the years with not one bit of bother.SPOWER said:What I don't get is why AVRO has the amout of customers that they did have. Not once did they come up as being a cheap supplier. Symbio, Neon Reef and PFP were the cheapest suppliers. I check every month. I have zero idea why it's getting the forum activity that it is. Odd.
It probably boils down to, in my case, time versus reward. I could probably have saved up to £60/80 a year by moving to one of the lot you mentioned but to be honest i was put off by the reviews and i didn't want the hassle as i'm getting a bit lazy over the years. I had previous when i joined Coop Energy years ago and bailed quickly as it was a farce from the start even though they had great prices. They clearly at that time couldn't handle the demand0 -

Coupled with no exit fees they were always a decent choice.I think last year they may have been a couple of said a month more than the cheapest, but with no exit fee I was expecting prices to come down as we got towards summer. That didn't happen in the end though and I'm not sure it's going to happen any time soon now.0

@SPOWEROne of the reasons is that AVRO sold its energy at cost (at least according to the last accounts it filed - for the period ending June 2019) - its' whole business model appears tp have been built on adding more and more customers while at the same time ensuring that many customers were paying 'up front' by building up a credit balance.
What I don't get is why AVRO has the amout of customers that they did have. Not once did they come up as being a cheap supplier. Symbio, Neon Reef and PFP were the cheapest suppliers. I check every month. I have zero idea why it's getting the forum activity that it is. Odd.
AVRO frequently came at the the top of the Cheap Energy Club comparisons - at least they did for me - fortunately I did some research first (Companies House) and avoided them.
