No point having a vendetta, they just are massive companies and can afford the risk of over bearing standards on customers. They could not care less.

Maybe you should just close the accounts down and open new ones under the new name. I have had multiple accounts with them under the same name (not at the same time).

Companies themselves have regulatory responsibilities. To comply they will chose the most the most effective means.
