fake caravan buyer

Options
Good Morning
I am selling my caravan and have an "interested party" but this email below reeks of scam, your opinions would be gratefully received. The only thing that keeps my interest is that they are not asking for me to pay anything (yet), and it is a legitimate   payment method. I am always cautions about giving out bank details.

Email below.
Dave, If you agree with the terms and conditions of the sale, for an international transfer through(SEPA), I'd like to have your payment details i:e : The bank name, IBAN and Account holder's name and I will make the payment tomorrow and get back to you with the transfer receipt.. Meanwhile, the transportation service company will contact you once the payment is completed in order to arrange pick-up date and time. A copy of the bill of sales and power of attorney will be brought to you and signed by me in order to complete the sales.

Please find the attached copy of my ID.

Yes it's a scam. Run away! Either the 'transfer receipt' will be fake and the money will never actually go into your account, or if it does, the sender's account will have been hacked, your bank will return their money and you are out one caravan. Why would someone from the Czech Republic buy a caravan from someone in the UK?

    A scam.  Just ignore them.

Well done for asking, though.  If more people checked things like this - no matter how obvious they might be to some - then fewer people would get conned.  Most threads like this arise after the poster has sent money or goods, so it's good to see someone checking beforehand.

The national body for a hobby I am involved with has its own very active classified ads website. Sadly from time to time it is plagued with responses just like this and lots of people post them as warnings to others. Despite that a few of our 35,000 plus members still fall for such scams.

Absolutely a scam. Why would anyone from abroad want to buy a caravan they've never even seen?  Bank transfer, courier will collect? Don't risk it, you'll lose out!

Aside from the usual obvious scam characteristics, the mother's name would end in OVA.

    What a crock.

What does Power of Attorney have to do with it?

Or does it have a different meaning in Czechia?

POA means nothing. it's just inserted to make it all look a bit more official and formal.
It's  presumably to confirm it's OK to release the caravan to the buyer's appointed agent.
Can't believe you even need to ask if this is a scam. No caravan shortage in CZ that I know of...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
