does 1p Mobile work in a locked EE Mobile iPhone

I have an iPhone which is locked to EE - less than 2 years so can't unlock for free.

Anyway, can I use 1p mobile sim in this without unlocking the phone?

Yes, at least it worked in my locked EE phone (not iPhone)
