Moving house - new contract?
WasteDisposal
I’m moving house and wanted to take my broadband and current contract with me. Have been told by my provider that I cannot take the 12-month old 18-month contract, but can take their service as long as I sign a new 18-month contract. Alternatively, I could cancel the contract but incur fees.
I’m still in my cooling off period and while I’ve agreed, I’m wondering if this is common practice?

Any advise appreciated.

Its normal you have a contract at current address only no place else , breaking that contract means paying off the remaining months .Move penalty free and again its normal to be asked to sign a new contract .Multiple posts on the subject .Choice move and take out the new contract avoids paying off current contract.Or price up alternative suppliers and pay off current contract .1

Yes, that’s what they said, but now I know this is nothing unusual I’ll stick with my decision. Thanks0
