So I see the variable rates how does the price cap affect this or are these the prices? Can anyone explain what the price cap means in real terms is its discount off the standard variable rateTomhallmartell said:Hi we were with utility point have been told we are now edf. There is a lot of confusion. The SoLR agrees a deemed tariff with Ofgem which is fixed for 6 months. The supplier loses SoLR status after 6 months. Some posters have been circulating EDF’s present deemed tariff which may or may not apply. The word deemed in the context of an SoLR just means that you are in contract the moment that the SoLR takes over your supply. My guess is that SoLR deemed tariffs will be announced tomorrow as this is when Ofgem increased Cap kicks in AND the deemed tariff will either match the Cap or be slightly cheaper (as is the case with Octopus). I may be wrong.Tomhallmartell said:Hi we were with utility point have been told we are now edf. I cannot find this information anywhere. Does anyone know? The price cap just acts to limit the standing charge and per unit price that a supplier can set for its standard variable tariff. So when you look at the standard variable tariff, it has already been set to be within the price cap.Remember it is only a cap on the price, not a cap on your bill... If you use more then you pay more.2 -
If you have a look here you'll be able to see the amounts for the usage you enter based on the Ofgem cap numbersTomhallmartell said:
