3 Mobile & Closing an account (Charges)
just after some information please, as I'm sure Three are wrong here.
I recently requested a PAC code from Three (roughly mid Aug)
following this I switched my number to another provider, I received what I assumed was a final bill dated 5.Sept.2021 (it does state We Have closed your account on the 3rd Sept)
stating my account has been closed and I am £7.73 in credit.
since then on the 21.Sept.2021, Three have now taken another months DD out of my account.
Now I have queried this with Three, whom originally stated this was right as its a 30 day notice charge
which I disagreed with bearing in mind the £7.73 credit on the final bill, this was escalated to someone higher up who agreed with me as well as agreeing to call me earlier this week to follow it up, which he did, however he then went back on his earlier statement saying it was a 30 day notice payment and I will get another final, final bill.
surely this can't be right, as I said repeatedly you pay in advance for service (hence the £7.73 credit originally)
anyone in the know about this at all
Thanks

The way I understand it is that as long as you are out of your minimum contract term, charges can only be applied to the day that your number ports out. If you are not porting then I believe 30 days notice applies.

would 30 days notice not start from when the PAC was requested ?
besides the fact I don't understand how you can be in credit of almost a full month's payment (£8.11) & in credit of £7.73 when the account was closed. (number Ported over)
yet nearly 3 weeks later a full month's payment is taken again ?0 -
I agree with bignred05
The last time i left i was about a week or so out of contract and i got a pac code and used it.
My contract ended as soon as the code went over and i started my new contract but i had already had my final bill when i received my pac code so i don't see how they can charge you for extra 30 days if you already had a final bill of £7.73 in credit.
OP Ofcom rules have a look it may help you.
