Good morning everyone, back from a week in The Cotswolds, weather lovely and a great pub meal and catch up with BIL and partner, not seen them for 3 years.
I got some washing dry and a little gardening done yesterday while it was sunny - cold wind though. Off to town soon, hoping to beat the rain, Wool shop owner friend says she will be there today if anyone wants to call in for a chat, need to see her anyway, so may buy a coffee and drop in.
MSE wise I am doing a rolling food plan, looking up recipes and checking freezer and stores and trying to do a little cupboard tidying as I go.
Gers - so pleased that the meet up to honour your DM went so well.
Ruby - Great news about work.
Poppy - I hope the Yoga helps and that you enjoy it too.
Snoozer - good luck with getting appointment.
TA - happy and sad times for you, have a good time with your friend.
Hester - hoping that you and Beano dodge the rain.
nmlc - Fingers crossed for a good work day.
Camelot - I would love one of those pulleys, but ceilings not high enough.
Take care all.

Morning all, showery again & our local rag had 9 degrees on their weather chart
I am off out to lunch today with 2 cousins, the 3rd has had to cancel to look after her poorly DGS. I on the other hand had a lovely surprise visit from mine before DS took him to school. Bit of van swapping going on - they are working quite near DGS school so DH got a lift off one of the subcontractors to get there earlier, & save diesel, fingers crossed the roof trusses arrive today. It's bad getting materials atm, they've been sat at home for a week waiting for these, ordered ages ago so I know what it's like Bella
They both had tea here last night, in fact DGD chopped some carrots and celery for me then made herself scrambled eggs on toast under my watchful eye. She did drop an egg on the floor but DDog soon sorted that
Snoozer hope you get an appointment after waiting so long.RR happy to hear you've been helped with your work situation, sounds good.Poppy hope the yoga taster helps and you enjoy it.Good wishes to all in need, bye for now x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. SNOOZER that's disgusting. I honestly don't think it will ever get back to how it used to be now.
Change of plan here! My friend texted to suggest that in view of the miserable rainy weather how did I fancy a late lunch down at the carvery instead. As it's not a nice day for trailing about I was happy to agree so have booked a table for 1.30 just in case it's busy. Although by then the lunchtime rush should be over. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all. Rain woke me up during the night and it's still intermittent this morning. Downstairs temp was 17 degrees first thing and DH did suggest lighting the stove.
We got caught up in traffic queueing for petrol yesterday, on our way to the pub lunch, and there was still just as long a queue on the way back. I need to use the car for some food shopping today so will plan my route to avoid petrol stations!
Snoozer: our GP Surgery has an online section, where you can mention your problem and get a phone call back from the surgery. I take it there's nothing like that at yours? Quite a few friends, including DH, have that same diagnosis and with similar treatment. One female friend likes to have long discussions about their tablets when she sees him!
Must stir myself now and get moving. Hope everyone's day goes well.16 -
Morning, hugs if you need one.
Welcome to a dull, grey rainy morning, the wind is something else and its very cold. However.......no more leaks from the toilet, The chap kindly ripped up the cushion floor and took it away with him so we can see the extent of the damage. We have plyboard down to level up the floor boards in the toilet. The piece which surrounded the sewer pipe is soaked, I will have to wait until it dries out, no idea how it has affected the floor boards underneath. However, there is less of a smell in there this morning, its cold with the window open, but open it stays. It will be a while before I get it replaced.
Glad I do not have to go out today. The petrol situation seems a bit better in the village, will go up a week today and fill the tank up before we set off on our holiday. Hope the weather is a bit better than it is at the moment.
I still have an issue with my embroidery machine, phoned the shop yesterday, but no one has got back to me so far. I managed to mess up one ornament..........I must remember each time I start a new one to make sure I remember to put in a full bobbin. I will be in there shortly starting todays effort.
Sausage for supper tonight, will do mash and mixed veg with it. We have rice pudding for dessert. Back on an even keel with the milk.

Morning all
Dull and raining here and quite cold, I had a bad night again so must pop into the chemist today to get some of their sleep aid pills I was tossing and turning till gone 4 this morning.
Taking mum out shopping today we will either go to lidl or aldi and then she wants to go to the fish stall, I have done a list for us but I am sure more things will jump into the trolly.
Not sure about dinner tonight but might do a spag bol or something like that something quick as I am sure I will be shattered by then.
Thanks for all the good wishes re work I am glad its sorted its a weight off my mind.
TA a day full of memories for you, have a nice lunch out xxx
Have good days all xxx12 -
Morning all. Atrocious weather here. I was hoping to cut the grass this monring but no go there. I'm trying out a new bluetooth keyboard with the tablet and it's tiny, but a lot easier than typing on screen. Quicker too. There's a guy coming today to have a look at the stuff in the shed, he's bringing a helper and a van so I'm hoping he'll take quite a bit. Not so much because it'll be easier for me but because the stuff will actually get used and not thrown. I'll go up there in a bit and try to start some organising of things so it's easier for them to see what's in there. Got my gloves at the ready.....TA, have a lovely day and try and enjoy the good memories...Bella, shame about the window people, but what are the chances of it being nice outside next weekend? Snoozer, I'd phone back and ask for a telehpone appointment if you are worried. Rosy, lol at the dog...
Take care of your god selves all, indulge in blankets and pudding and custard today...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi14 -
Good morning all

It's a bit drizzly and windy here this morning but not cold enough to put the heating on. I had a dreadful night's sleep and woke up 5 times in the night and got up for a couple of hours too. Lee's alarm went off at 7.30 but he was already downstairs so it carried on bleeping until Steve got up and turned it off.
I feel like a student this morning as we ate leftover curry and rice for breakfast
. It was delicious and warming so I don't care.
My sister in Wales has tested positive for Covid and so has her partner and her youngest daughter. Unfortunately she came to the family party and spread it round so my poor mum has it now and so does my sister in law and my niece. I am so so grateful that I wasn't well enough to go. They have all been vaccinated so hopefully it won't be too bad for them.
My knitting is going really well. Steve has claimed the two Halloween hamsters I have made to decorate his computer desk. Luckily they only take a few hours each to make. Today I am going to make a skeleton one and if I have time, a witch. I need to sort out the corner where I sit to do my knitting as I am going to be buried under balls of yarn if I am not careful
.
Fishcakes, chips and peas for dinner tonight, nice and easy and quick. I might make a soup for lunch or I might try and get a bit more sleep.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx13
