Hi
Switched from Igloo to Octopus prior to Igloo ceasing to trade.
Octopus won't refund my credit with Igloo saying I should contact the energy company named by ofgem to take over supply, that is, Eon.
How can I have 2 energy providers?

E.oN Next is the appointed SoLR for Igloo so for all practical reasons it is Igloo in all but name. As the SoLR, it will have access to Igloo’s IT systems and to Igloo’s Receiver. Octopus has no business relationship with Igloo and it is not liable for re-paying your credit balance. You do not have two suppliers.Germush said:Hi

Based on what has been reported here, as an ex Igloo customer you will be at the back of the queue to get your credit. Ofgem rules on Final Billing etc no longer apply as Igloo no longer holds a Supply Licence.0 -
I started a switch from Igloo to OVO prior to them ceasing trading, with the handover to OVO just as Igloo were wound up. I got my final bill from Igloo (not e.on) on 11 Oct saying my credit balance (some £345) would be paid within 7 working days. I chased them up 10 days later after the credit wasn’t returned only to get a standard reply to say contact e.on in all regards. I haven’t yet chased e.on up but saying people such as myself are at the back of the queue is a concern.I’ll post back here any feedback from e.on0

That was quick. e.on answered the phone within a minute (0808 501 5128 for Igloo customers). They said the accounts would finally be transferred by next Fri (12 Nov) and it would take 2-3 weeks from then to process any refunds by cheque so overall 4 weeks or so.
Hope this helps somebody.2 -
You haven't - you have one supplier (Octopus) and one company (Eon) who have taken over your account from your previous supplier (Igloo).Germush said:Hi

When Igloo went under I had a small credit of about £76, but the next DD was taken a few days later. I left it as the advice was not to cancel the DD so it would make it easier for EON.Next to switch it over to them.
However, another DD went out about 2 weeks ago and then I got another email from EON.Next saying it would still take another few weeks to switch over fully, but I could open an online account in the meantime to check my account. It still shows nothing and I am wondering where my DDs are going, as it still shows as Igloo on my bank account, and EON.Next are saying they will likely need to set up a new DD!0 -
Igloo who had supposedly ceased trading took another £130 by DD today after we are supposed to have switched to E.On Next on the 3rd October. So Igloo now have a credit balance of £344.70 which will go over to E.On I guess but not sure why there's quite such a struggle at this stage to set up E.On accounts, I'm not having the same luck as KevH_4 on 0808 501 5128.0
