Agreed, and I would expect that was part of their agreement with Ofgem as it would have made no sense to do anything else this close to the new cap.

wiseonesomeofthetime said:Interesting how the standing charges increased as well, not just the price per kWh.That was only on Gas though, the SC for the electricity remained the same.The way the cap works it allows the supplier to be flexible in say charging a lower SC but a higher unit price as long as the total remains under the cap.Looks like Octopus decided to move the SC up to the cap limit, but still undercut the cap a little by not raising the gas unit price as high as they could...
