PCR Tests now for £1.98

Options
I picked this link up on Tripadvisor. PCR tests are going to end so perhaps this is part of the fire sale!

They are a month in advance but your payment of £1.98 gets you the all important reference code.

Thankfully they are on the government list but its much safer to check the government list rather than Tripadvisor given there have been culls of providers who were falsely advertising etc.

Having Covid symptoms would require you to isolate and is not a valid reason for missing a Day 2 test . You could be fined up to £2,000 if you do not take the required tests.

Someone needs to tell the testing companies this. I've not seen one that doesn't tell you to stay away if you have symptoms.
  • Baa! Wish I’d seen this earlier I just ordered and paid for 2 PCRs at £45 each.

    but thanks!

You can take a Day 2 test at home . So having Covid symptoms doesn’t exempt you from having a Day 2 test -

I took a day 2 test at home on 10 September. It cost £28. I'm still waiting for my results and no replies to emails, phone calls or online messages. They are now off the government list.

I'm not happy but at the end of the day I got the reference number.

Not sure how any fine would be given as there appears to be no further checks made.

Even if the day two moves to LFT I'm sure they will still be paid ones and more than £2, I expect a PCR would be accepted.  I have a couple of short trips coming up I think Ill buy some of these cheapo PCR for stock :-)

The 1.98 tests are an in person test - you pay and book for an appointment- so not something you can stockpile .

Thats a shame,  I have found a place close to home in St. Leonards on sea where approved PCR tests are £1.75.  You collect the test from them by appointment and take it home to take the sample.   Can't stockpile there either appointments available during the next 21 days rolling only.
