When a company cancels a service you pay for and will not give your deposit back

Of the three options in your original post, mediation/negotiation is the only one really open to you. I can't see the bank intervening, nor any ombudsman, because as others have pointed out, the sequence of events is such that you are the one who cancelled, and the company can defend that pretty easily.0
