Provisional license - passport photo very old, do I need to send my passport?
Hi all,
My daughter is in the process of applying for her first provisional license.
She has a UK passport and NINO, but the UK passport is from 4 years ago and her appearance (and signature) has changed quite a bit since then.
If she were to state her passport number and NINO but chose not to use her photo from the passport, will she be required to send in her passport?
Can't seem to get this information anywhere but I'd like to know before she applies as we have a couple of trips coming up, and given the workload and backlog of DVLA I'm uncertain when I'll get it back.
Thanks in advance.

If she states her passport number, they'll use her passport photo.
If she wants to use a different photo, she'll have to apply manually with the photo she wants, and use a different ID doc.

Only 4 years, that's nearly new. I got away with using the photo from a passport that was just about to expire - so nearly 10 years old.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Thanks all.
So she decided to not use her passport photo, and after applying online, we have received a form from DVLA which is only asking for her latest passport photo and not any other form of identification or address proof, which is rather surprising.
Will post here how it goes along.0
