I have to be honest , and will admit I don't know what sped I'm supposed to be getting
I am on fibre though ( if that means much ) .
I can check the app, and see if the info is there .So...
bt ; ping 20 ms/ download 51.7 mbps/ upload 8.97 mbps
Think broadband ; download 37.1 mbps/ upload 6.9 mbps your latency ; 46 ms / near ultra hd ( 2560 pix) streaming possible ..
This quotes your min guaranteed speed as well as max and min download and upload speeds.

Thanks @glennevis
When I had issues a couple of years ago, Vodafone upgraded me . I have forgotten what it is . I'll have a more in-depth look shortly0 -
Reads as poor wifi not internet .

Okay , an update ;
I contacted Vodafone via live chat . Obviously long drawn out , but helpful ..
Initially I was told I'm on the minimum speed . Then lots of questions . I was advised to move the router away from walls , electricity , furniture etc which I said was impossible .
The technician agreed .
Between all of this he gave me a link to deals etc as I'm a very loyal customer .
He then said it may be an idea to replace the router . However he backtracked , and said that it would be an upgrade ( more expensive bill) .
He said a sales person would contact me .I said a replacement router could possibly be sent due to it being over 4 years old . No deal .
In the end and looking at the help I've received here, it seems best to put up with my current contract and accept everything is working and the speed is good enough ..

Yes even voda let you these days. Everything supplied by comapnies for free is very bad.I got mine for £30, but i did not need wifi (I use a seperate qwifgi solution so turned it's poor wifi off, one with no wifi that was decent was double the price). But feel free to put up with it if you like. (You never posted stats or wirted tests so who knows).1 -

A good place for a wifi router is in the centre of the house, high up about head height above all furniture etc.
Unfortunately I see most people put their wifi router right near the front wall where the internet comes in and then put it on the floor, in a cupboard, behind the TV etc, all of which are terrible places.
It is never impossible to put the router somewhere else, in fact it will take you less time and energy than contacting Vodafone. It just needs a little thought and maybe a cable and this will make a big difference.
Having said all that, moving away from the ISP free router is another great step forward and a worthwhile investment if you care about your wifi coverage and quality.
There are so many options nowadays it really is a no brainer. When people are paying £200-£400 per year for internet and then only getting a slow speed, it soon becomes clear that investing in a new wifi solution for £200 that will last many years is good use of money.
One decent wifi router can make a massive difference - I can still use my wifi for video calls 20 metres down the back garden and that is after the wifi has passed through 2 brick walls to get there. My ISP router would barely cover the whole house let alone any of the garden.1 -
Thanks @[Deleted User] @Carrot007
Things to add ; I live in a small gd flr Victorian converted flat. This of course means odd shaped room and ltd space to move router further away from where it presently sits. I have only one phone socke r in flat
At present the location is not ideal, but looks good . ( it's ontop of my display cabinet which holds hifi/ humax freesat box / stereo speakers / turntable with TV mounted onto wall) . The landline telephone is on a shelf to the right by the mains and landline phone socket. Apart from having a giant lan cable so 5hat I could move router to other end of room, I don't know what else to do.
Alyhough the Vodafone router does look good , it may be an idea to listen to your advice and change it for a new one . Having said that, if I did have a tariff upgrade then Vodafone would send me a new router anyway ..

Mosty companies that say which routers are good do not even supply routers they claim are good!If they stopped and people read reviews we might get somewhere!Anyway. So solid walls. Best is a decent router and the conenction (£30) and a multi point wifi solution. They are all good. get whatever is on offer. Yes probably a bit under £200 for a 3 point one but it works.I use a £30 router and amazons offering (it was on offer when I wanted one, they are all fine).TLDR? Vodas new router would belons in the bin too.2 -
As I mentioned in my first reply we really need to see your connection stats from your router. Please login to the router by typing in 192.168.1.1 on your browser. I'm not sure what the username/password will be, no doubt admin as the username and it'll possibly prompt you to enter a new password if you haven't logged in before.1
