All other things being equal (and I accept they aren't), I'd choose LPG because I much prefer cooking with gas than electricity :)
You've not tried an induction hob then.

My LPG caravan cooker is a pita to clean and can't simmer as well as my induction hob at home. (Not to mention the singed hairs I get when lighting the burner sometimes.

How well do they work with aluminium pans?
Aluminium, with a magnetic core should work just fine on induction hobs.  Example here:  https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meyer-Aluminium-Induction-Compatible-Set-Black/dp/B06XBWTMPS is a

Yeah, so no it won't work with my *existing* pans.
Although I guess I could lay a sheet of steel on top of the induction hob then put my pan on that? Convert it into a solid hotplate? Sounds a bit sub-optimal, though. I'll stick with gas, at least for now.

I bought an induction hob and am very pleased with it. It is so controllable and so fast. I bought a decent set of pans from Amazon for not much money. The package of hob and pans really didn't cost much. As well as being more controllable and faster to heat than gas I am doing my bit for the environment by using a green electricity supply rather than burning a fossil fuel.

The main reason I moved to an induction hob was when my cat walked across my ceramic hob just after I had turned off a ring. Poor little mite had badly burned pads and I vowed I wouldn't let it happen again. An induction ring doesn't get hot enough to burn in the way a ceramic or other electric hob does. It gets hot, but not too hot.

We've tried all sorts, gas, ceramic, halogen and now induction and by far the best by a long way is induction. We were dyed in the wool, gas afficiandos untill we move to a place without gas, but even now if gas became available we wouldn't swap our inuction for one.

Instantly controllable, no mess, no food burnt onto the hotplate, easy to clean and no condensation from burning gas, so the kitchen stays cleaner as well. Ours is eleven years old and still looks like new.

We've got both aluminium and stainless steel pans (from Tesco) and IMO stainless are far superior to aluminium - easier to clean and dont discolour if you put them into the dishwasher.
