@Tula100, your story has prompted me to create a new thread because I too have experience misplacing passports (on multiple occasions, each time turning the whole flat upside-down).

Definitely having kids - who knew they would still be costing me now they are 29 and 42!!!!

My brother, who is 60, still sponges off my mum. It seems that it is indeed a lifelong commitment.
