So I found the ring this morning on the BATHROOM FLOOR! I've used the bathroom numerous times since it went missing and not noticed it! Mr S did say he checked the bathroom on Monday and picked up a towel off of the floor and thought he heard metal drop but he couldn't see anything so thought he was mistaken. It sounds like the ring had become wrapped up in a towel as I dried my hands. Anyway it's safely stored away until I can have it re-sized. However I've decided my original ring shouldn't just be in a jewellery box and I should wear it also even if t's just when I go out.
In other news, we have had 2 letters from CC1. The first says we've stopped the DD and please ensure we make alternative arrangements - this is because the DD was for £300 and the o/s balance is for £100.
The 2nd was to tell us that the interest is going up to 21% from October. In best panto style - oh no it isn't - because the £100 will be paid off on Friday next week on DH's payday.2 -

OMG the coin purses strike again! Just picked one up near the PC and there's £11.50 in it!
It's a week till DH's payday and 2 weeks till mine and DD coming home this weekend and we're going out so I'm sure I'd find this money handy but I made a promise to myself that any found money is to be saved in order for me to not have to have the Sept 1st SO, so into the savings pot it goes.1 -
You're not going to believe this, but after the last post above, I went upstairs to transfer the money into where I keep it and when I unfolded the £10 note there was actually 2 there not 1 so £21.50. I'd also found 20p on the bedroom carpet earlier so added that too. Can't remember the exact total now but it's around £32 - getting towards half way there.
DD came home last night. Today depending on whether my Nan is feeling up to it we will be a party of 8 going out for lunch, if she's not well enough, it will be a party of 5. Depending on the bill we will either pay out of this months remaining wages or if that won't leave us enough to live on then borrow from savings and pay it back next week. Normally we wouldn't do something like this close to payday, but this is for Nan's 98th birthday that was last week, due to the venue location near DS house we need to take her when the weather is still relatively decent and next week (after payday!) DH is already away.

I have my banking app back on my new phone - yay. So I checked the accounts and in my current account is 4p! Would have been £1.04 but I paid for parking at the theatre last night. I also have another 10 days before I'm paid again. I have petrol in my car though, hopefully enough to get there and back for the next 3 days to work without filling up. No need to come home at lunchtime since parents will have the dog. Have plenty of food in the cupboards, a little in cash in my purse. On Thursday it's my birthday, I get the day off from work and anything spent them on a debit card won't go through till DH gets paid the following day and there's around £90 left in that account, so I'm sure we'll manage, we just have a few imposed NSD coming up.
Nan was up to going out so we went and enjoyed it and she saw the cottage that DS and DiL rent, and the beautiful view they have. My Dad contributed towards the bill, which is why we have some cash to see us through the forthcoming week.1 -
I get really anxious if my current account balance falls that low even if I know there is nothing due out until the next money in has landed! Don't get me wrong, I don't leave hundreds in there "just in case" but I di like to know there is a bit of a buffer!
So pleased you found the ring too - how funny it was there all the time without you seeing it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡SOA CALCULATOR (for DFW newbies): SOA Calculator2023 "Gym Neutral Fund" - £104.46/£280 (Membership taken 01/2/23)🏋🏻♀️ 2023/24 Gym cost per use: at 19/06/23 £20.00 per visit! My own current account though has always been for the 'extras' so it's easy to not spend from it. Admittedly I didn't know it had dropped that low. I got my banking app back yesterday and have logged in to check the account several times since - clearly missed it.
Yes, the low funds were caused by the meal out but with Nan being 98, felt postponing till the Spring was potentially chancing it.
I'm thrilled I found the ring. I'd resigned myself to it having gone for good. It wasn't just that I like the setting but also because of the significance of it because each time I look at it, it reminds me that though we were once in the circs where we could only afford a cheap ring - over time we improved our situation.
For a while now I've been buying extra of grocery items for the cupboard and also for our additional fridge so long as it has a longer shelf life eg filtered milk, butter cheese. This is now so helpful in preparing lunches. Today I had a salad with tuna mayo and prawns with an avocado dip then a s/free jelly and fruit salad. Likely to be the same tomorrow. DH went to work away with cheese and pickled onion sandwiches in his new car fridge that he's loving.

Sounds like you need a "woof pot" for dog grooming as that is a regular outgoing at presumably predictable intervals?
The car fridge is going to pay for itself in no time by the sound of it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡SOA CALCULATOR (for DFW newbies): SOA Calculator2023 "Gym Neutral Fund" - £104.46/£280 (Membership taken 01/2/23)🏋🏻♀️ 2023/24 Gym cost per use: at 19/06/23 £20.00 per visit!
