Which mobile network providers have internet-free formulas?

Options
I'm looking for any type of formula (monthly or not) without internet for my daughter's first phone - a flip phone. Is there such a thing in the UK?

    Do you mean contract?
You will be able to get a plan that has calls and texts but no data allowance.
Any phone will still be able to access wifi so you will also need to change settings on the phone if that is an issue.

Thanks. I mean anything at all, contract or whatever else as long as there's no internet. About wifi I plan to buy a flip phone without just calls and texts, nothing else.

Such phone I can find, but I'm looking for internet-free plans out there and it's not that easy to find.

Your terminology is a bit odd. Do you mean you are buying a non-smart phone? If so go for any deal you like and just ignore the data bit.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • Sorry I'm not a native English speaker, yes a non-smart phone. Well paying for data without using it sounds like a waste of money, also some non-smartphone still have internet apps like whatsapp or whatever. Have all internet-less mobile plans been wiped out from this country?
  • You won't be spending any less by trying to find a data free plan. Probably more, as there's no market for it.

Just get a basic phone that calls and sends texts.

Data is cheap for the providers, so its beneficial just to bundle it in and if you use it you use it and if you don't, you don't.  Makes no difference to them.

If you want Whatsapp and access to Play Store it'll have to be a smart phone, though you say you want an internet-free phone and then say you want Whatsapp?  How do you propose Whatsapp would work without a connection of some sort?

Just turn mobile data off on the phone and Whatsapp will work on any wifi connection you introduce it to.

which I took to mean some non-smartphones still have it so they want a non data deal to make it difficult to use.

Looking around I only found one non data contract which is advertised as protecting children but comes at the ridiculous price of £9.99 for 250 mins 250 texts !

On contract, I agree, it'll be daylight robbery all round.

Pay as you Go though, there's bundles:

    O2 £5 a month; https://www.o2.co.uk/help/pay-as-you-go/big-bundles

    Asda Mobile £4 a month; https://mobile.asda.com/bundles

    1p Mobile £3 a month;  https://www.1pmobile.com/

That's just ones without data at all - there's more which include a bit of data each month but coming in at £5 a month or so (Lebara etc.).
  • depends how many text calls you need which may work out cheapest

I think the cheapest unlimited call/text option is still Sky mobile £66 (was £42) for 3years(with a simple phone)

    https://www.sky.com/shop/mobile/phones/nokia/nokia-105-(2019)?colour=Black&capacity=4MB

    Scroll down to payment options
    £2.50pm x24m 50p x12m  or £66up front

Then add the 100mb sim for £0pm

over 3years £1.84pm and may go on for longer.

There are probably still some o2 classic about on their 123 tariff.

there is the RWG and their options 50mins/text free or pay for more.
