"... laws of 3FR ..."? What is that?
I notice a lot of American spellings and phrases in those "terms"...0 -

Although it's the first office I've heard of to have it's own laws.3 -
There was another thread not too long ago with similar stating laws of the company address, which might have also been in Edinburgh IIRC, ran a search on the forum but it doesn't appear to the same address as these Pocket people.y3sitsm3 said:

Which offence would it be? I can't see the cops helping you out with your leggings problem anyway.Manxman_in_exile said:Further to above, does anyone know if Pocket Sports are actually committing a criminal offence by saying that they won't refund on sales items? I'm sure I've seen that discussed here on a couple of occasions but can't remember what was said.0 -
I'm sure Unholyangel used to say that misleading the consumer about their rights amounted to a criminal offence, or something along those lines.user1977 said:

Yes - she(?) did used to say that, but I can't remember what legislation she referred to. I'm wondering if it's one of those weird offences that can only be prosecuted by Trading Standards. (Not very likely ever to happen if that is the case... )

Well imagine they simply said "Sale items cannot be returned". That would be untrue and would be misleading consumers (to their financial detriment) as to their statutory rights. Saying they will only give a credit voucher on sales returns is no less misleading. I have a very strong feeling that misleading consumers in that way constitutes a criminal offence. It might very well not be one that the police would be interested in, but I have a feeling that it's one that TS could prosecute - if (and it's a pretty big "if") they had a mind to.0 -
Tagging @unholyangel in case she wants to chime in. (Not sure if she's still around here - not seen her posting for a while - her profile shows Last active: 30 July at 1:33PM).Jenni x0

The search function on this forum is as much use as a chocolate teapot, but if you've got the patience to search for posts by unholyangel containing the word "offence", it throws up several posts by them basically saying that if a retailer attempts to mislead a consumer as to their stautory rights, or if a retailer attempts to limit, remove or restrict those rights. then it may amount to a criminal offence.
unholyangel expanded on this in a post on 07 September last year at 6:35pm "... And also that the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations make it a criminal offence to remove/restrict a consumers rights or try to mislead a consumer about their rights."

Whether that is correct or not, I do not know as I'm not familiar with that legislation.0 -
Just picking up on this, it’s the longest they have gone without posting, I hope all is well I might send a message.Jenni_D said:Tagging @unholyangel in case she wants to chime in.
