JLA "Stopping" Charge

I think VCS won't be as scared of losing money as they will be that they might lose on points that can be used against them again in the future.
I agree, and the fact that they will likely be out of pocket even if they would win, doesn't offer them much of an incentive to proceed; or so I hope! No chickens are being counted as yet...2 -
They don't seem to care about throwing money at these court claims. My hearing was rescheduled and the first judge had told them that if they went ahead with the second hearing that they should produce evidence that the ticket machine was working.Router66 said:The judge appeared to have read a good chunk of our main defence points but, in line with your point, the devil is in the detail and she would not have time to sift through it all in the time available to her. Fingers crossed that VCS will not risk a re-arranged hearing that might cost them another lost income fee + transport + solicitor + court fee in order to recover a £100.00 charge.
The next hearing was rescheduled for two hours. I did think that they might pull but they didn't and at the next hearing a barrister rocked up. I won't go into all the details but I did not come out of it too badly. It was more like a drop hands. I was happy with that as to be honest I thought that I had about a 50/50 chance of winning.

I would not worry too much. I think that the judges allocate two hours on the hope that they do fold because @ around £125.00 plus VAT per hour that is quite costly. Then there is the cost of the rep for the first hearing. They get paid the full amount even if the hearing only last minutes. They will have to throw around another £300.00 at it and they won't get that much back even if they win.Router66 said:That's worrying...just when I thought the sleepless nights were behind me!
Thanks for the warning @SB...It will definitely be heeded as the judge also allocated 2 hours for the re-scheduled case.

Looks like it is moving in the right direction, 🤞.2

Have they got to pay your costs for the day and the maximum that they can claim is £100.00? It sounds like she wants them to fold.

Yep, the VCS solicitor took the bank details and will arrange for VCS to transfer costs within 14 days. The judge also made it crystal clear that they were not having their £60 add-on regardless of whether or not she was hearing the re-scheduled case.
She set the ceiling at £100, but I suspect they may be able to recover the court fee if they win.2 -
They will still be well out of pocket if they go ahead whatever the outcome. I just love it the more expensive defendants become where this company is concerned.Router66 said:Yep, the VCS solicitor took the bank details and will arrange for VCS to transfer costs within 14 days. There is also the costs of sending out those weighty witness statements. Mine was eighty pages. The funny part of this is that in Lichfield their machines are not giving out tickets because they are saying it is better for the environment. You could not make it up,

Is that so ? but they send reams of papers to the court even if it is rubbish.Snakes_Belly said:

In this case, the judge has a plan and is probably prepared to punish VCS who no doubt is not the county court's favourite
VCS will never know until it happens and they have already been told the fake £60 SCAM is a NO-GO .... IT'S NOW BACK TO POCKET MONEY ?3
