From the notes to the press release:The price cap is a cap on a unit of gas and electricity, with standing charges taken into account. It is not a cap on customers’ overall energy bills, which will still rise or fall in line with their energy consumption. From 1 October the equivalent per unit level of the price cap to the nearest pence for a typical customer paying by direct debit will be 21p per kWh for electricity customers and 4p per kWh for gas customers.Note "to the nearest pence"; prices a little over 21p/kWh and a little over 4p/kWh are alowed. Also the Standing Charge is capped to around 25p/day. There is more info for consumers here.

These numbers are much higher than my current deal but the variable tariff is still showing as 3.32p per kWh when fixed is over 6p so I can't see that lasting for much longer.

https://damn-lies-and-statistics.blogspot.com/2021/09/electricity-gas-price-cap-unit-rate.htmlIf you own that blog, you've got it hilariously wrong. The cap for 12000kWh is inclusive of the standing charge. The rate would only be 4.95p/kWh if you had zero standing charge. If the SC is exactly £107.01/yr, each kWh can't be more than (594.94-107.01)/12000 = 4.066p/kWh.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.1 -

Any feedback would be welcome. Next stage is to allow calculation of your own usage by entering numbers but first was to show the Ofgem price cap values.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.2 -
