Broadband - Short Term

Hi guys.
So in summary, I am renting at the moment and my landlord has advised he will be selling the flat in early 2022. I knew this was always a possibility, he is a friend of mine so has been open about this the whole time.
Anyway, this will come around 3-6 months too soon for me, I am saving for a deposit to buy my own place in 2022, but reckon there will be a period of 3-6 months whereby I will need to move back with parents.
My Sky package contract has ended and the costs are too high so I have given them notice to terminate the agreement. I can live with streaming, NowTV and Freeview so this is fine but unsure what to do with my broadband. I obviously dont want to sign up to an 18-24 month contract, so what do you suggest? I am heavily reliant on broadband for work and use this for private browsing and PS5 also.
Any thoughts would be great.
Cheers.

Many companies will give let you move your broadband to a new address for free, at least once although usually under the proviso that you sign a new contract.
I know for a fact Vodafone do. I'm sure you can do research on your chosen ISP to see if they offer free house moves.0 -
Have you considered using a mobile package. We used an O2 Sim for a year with an external aerial which gave us speeds of around 60mb and more than enough even with two of us working from home with my son playing on his XBOX.0

Now broadband are 12 month minimum terms.JamieJ89 said:Hi guys.So in summary, I am renting at the moment and my landlord has advised he will be selling the flat in early 2022. Sure, but even 12 months is longer than I need - my parents obviously have their own arrangements so will just mean I'll be paying for nothing for a number of months. If that's the only option I have then I'll just bite the bullet and go for it.

What arrangements do your parents have? What reason is there for you not using that?JamieJ89 said:neilmcl said:

I will move back with parents for a short period in early 2022 until such time as i am ready to move and buy my own place.0 -
Have a check on the ususal comparisson sites, there are companies that do monthly contracts maybe you can get one of those.3

As suggested above, try using your mobile phone as a hotspot and see if that could tide you over.
A mobile solution would be portable and allow you the flexibility of having you own internet service wherever you are living (subject to coverage). We use a MiFi unit when we go away in our caravan and it gives us a reasonable service in most parts of the country - try differnt providers to see who has the best coverage for where you live (or intend to live)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
How high are we talking? Considering its just over 3 months left until 2022 it might be best just to continue using Sky on a monthly rolling basis and cancel 30 days or so before you move out.JamieJ89 said:My Sky package contract has ended and the costs are too high so I have given them notice to terminate the agreement.0 -
It went from £78 and the lowest the retentions team could get it was £120 😬😬JenB79 said:
