If the iPhone 13 range sells better than the latest and greatest Xiaomi, then the answer is yes. But you might as well compare a Ford Ka to a Mercedes E class, after all both have 4 wheels and an engine right? Or a Miele washing machine to a Beko one, after all a washing machine has a drum which spins around right?redux said:
It's still a comparison. Is the Apple operating system really worth £500 to 600 extra per installation?JenB79 said:
You're comparing apples with oranges (no pun intended) since Xiaomi phones use a different operating system so the user experience will be totally different. Your comparison would only be valid if Xiaomi phones ran iOS.redux said:Xiaomi model coming soon, approx same spec as one of the £1000+ iPhones, 6.7 screen, 8 GB and 128 GB, from under half the price.
Not for me, but gives an idea of relative prices.1 -

No different to comparing a Xiaomi phone to an Apple phone.redux said:

a better comparison would be cars of a similar spec and size one is expensive but keeps its value the other cheap but its value drops like a stone. The cheapest is not always the best financial decision or the best to drive, Or is it just badge snobbery ?8kw system spread over 6 roofs , surrounded by trees and in a valley.1

I bought an iPhone XS Max renewed for 330 quid about 4 months ago off Amazon. Everything about it felt brand new, the only tell tale sign was 88% battery health. But this is a decent battery anyway and is still holding a good charge.
iPhones can be good value for money if you don't mind an older phone, this still feels top of the range and will likely be sporting the latest software beyond 2025. Beats any mid ranger by a mile in this price bracket.
If you want a decent iPhone you don't have to rob a bank.0 -
I was recently bought and iphone 12 256 GB which cost £679. I've not used it yet and it's still within the returns timescale. Would I benefit from getting the iphone 13 128 GB which will be £100 more or just stick with the 12?0

Returns may be difficult as you did not buy it .

If you're happy with 128gb storage and it really is only an extra £100 or so, then you might as well get the latest 13 model despite there not being a huge difference between the 2 models. If the packaging seal is still intact on 12 with proof of purchase available, then no reason why it can't be returned for a full refund.ReRe21 said:I was recently bought and iphone 12 256 GB which cost £679. Packaging is still intact as I was waiting for the release of the 13 model so that I could compare the price.JenB79 said:

I've got the iphone 7 at the moment and trying to decide whether to stick with the 12 or pay the extra for the 13, decisions, decisons!0 -

I don’t think that’s a fair comment at all. It’s the typical Apple viewpoint that their phones are the top of the range and everyone else is far behind. Xiami might not be as illustrious a name as Apple, but they are still decent phones and not akin to a Ford Ka as compared to a Mercedes E class. So I think the comparison is valid. With Apple you are largely paying for the name, because although iOS is a bit different from Android, they are both perfectly usable operating systems and it’s more a matter of personal preference rather than one being “better” than the other.JenB79 said:
