What Small Things Will You Do This Week?? 13/09/21

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation.  These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

    Afternoon all :)
I would certainly eat orange chicken, and OH would as well (he is delighted to get any meat these days lol)
    Today I have:
    Walked dog
Shopping, mostly in Lidl, but had to go to Mr S for 2 things that they didn't have. Bought a few tins for the food bank, handy now Lidl has a collection point as well as the major supermarkets.
Cleaned the bathroom, while OH did the kitchen floor
DD2 came round with little GS. Gave them lunch (beans on toast all round) and went upstairs to the loft conversion bedroom which also serves as a playroom. Played tea parties for a while. GS aged 3 is a very prim and proper waiter :D  Then took him to post a letter and watch the diggers working in the road (our road is closed for drainage work for ages :#)
Found some items for GD's school topic (soils, rocks, minerals etc) from my sales stock / 'treasure collection'
Watered the beans and the strawberry baskets. Could do with some rain to be honest, the garden is really dry.
Weeded a couple of big pots
Moved a small wood pile - rehomed a really big pupa, whatever insect comes out of it will be huge :o  and a few small to minute toads scurried for cover
Picked some raspberries, 2 more cucumbers and a few beans
Dinner will be spinach and feta filo pie which I made yesterday after cutting the spinach.
I must pickle some cucumbers, as I have about 6 sitting on the worktop :#

    Morning folks

Thanks to @Bagpuss741 for starting us off.

Had a bit of a shock last nigt as noticed that one of the front tyres is pratically bald. Asked OH if he didn't look at the when he pumps them up... apparently not. He has a real weird blind spot when it comes to basic car maintainence. He gets shocked any time that even the tyres need pumping up. He would be happy to let them go flatter until the pressure warning comes on, then pump them up. Have tried to explain to him that's not how it works!

The gym was cancelled this morning as the whole industrial estate was closed off due to a police incident. Rumoured to be a gas leak but seems odd as the police wouldn't say what the incident was to the gym owner.

    Small things happening today:
    :star: B/L/D from stores
    :star: WFH, OH at work
:star: Put home grown beans out on trays to finish drying off - they need to be dried slowly or the skins split. Last week I put some in the sun and even that was too hot.
:star: Dyeing OH's gigging trousers, t-shirts and a couple of his band mate's things back to black
:star: Go to hairdressers to get a skin test
:star: Go to local diy shop to pick up some work things

    Have a good one all
